Holistic Surf Coaching & Programs

At Windansea Watersports, we create a space where kids build confidence and lifelong skills. Through our activities, they learn to stay calm under pressure, think critically, and face challenges with confidence. Along the way, they develop social skills, resilience, and a deep understanding of the ocean.

Hey! I'm Crusoe
Born & raised here in the lineup at Windansea.
Surfing since age 3, charging since age 7 — I’ve put in over 15 years in these waters, trained as a lifeguard, competed in water polo, and studied surf safety inside and out.
Worked with the World Surf League as a Water Safety Patrolman in El Salvador. Certified through BWRAG — trained to read risk, manage rescue, and stay calm under pressure.
Taught lessons to all ages — but found my calling in teaching kids about the ocean. Now I’m here to pass it all down — the knowledge, the stoke, the respect for the ocean.
This isn’t just about surfing. It’s about staying safe, growing, and loving the water for life.

Holistic Surf Coaching & Programs

More Than Just Surfing
We teach kids how to read waves, understand tides, navigate reef zones, and build real ocean awareness — not just how to stand up on a board.
Ocean Safety Comes First
Every session includes hands-on training in water safety, breath control, and rescue basics — knowledge that lasts a lifetime.
Small Crews, Big Progress
Each group is capped at 8 students and split by skill level, ensuring personalized coaching and stronger peer connection.

My relationship with the ocean began the day I was born.
My father dunked me in the ocean at Windansea beach the moment I left the hospital, and after that point, my love and respect of the ocean began.
I started surfing at 7 years old, working my way through the various reef breaks in La Jolla—from South Bird to Little Point, Big Rock, and finally, Windansea. Surfing has been a constant in my life, exploring every corner of La Jolla’s coastline, from the smallest nooks to the massive slabs of Big Rock.
My goal is to instill the same confidence in the ocean that I’ve built over the years in my students. Starting young, I’ve realized, is key to developing both as a waterman and as an individual. Nature teaches us humility and respect, and it has shaped who I am today. These lessons continue to guide me through life, both in and out of the water, and they’re experiences I’m still learning from and applying every day.
